Parity magazine – responding to homelessness in Aotearoa

Ten years on from the 2007 ‘Responding to Homelessness in Aotearoa New Zealand’ edition of Parity magazine, the Australian Council to Homeless Persons produce has produced a 2017 anniversary edition. This publication is a point-in-time record of how we have responded to the increases in homelessness since the first publication was produced.

Co-edited by Te Matapihi, this edition brings together the specialist community focused on homelessness and showcases the expertise within the country, documenting the progress and successes we’ve made in addressing homelessness while clarifying the challenges that remain.

The People’s Project contributed the article, The role of local government in a homeless response, by Carol McMiinn, page 39

Also see the the story, One Housing First to rule them all? by Clare Aspinall, Jenny Ombler, Dr Nevil Pierse and professor Philippa Howden Chapman on page 30, which outlines a five year research programme between He Kainga Oranga in partnership with The People’s Project and Waikato University which will evaluate the outcomes of Housing First in the New Zealand context.
