Together, we can end homelessness

Finding someone a house is just the beginning. The People’s Project continues supporting people to make their house, their home.

People who have been homeless for a long time have very few personal possessions. As well as connecting people to wrap-around support services, we also help people furnish their homes with standard household goods, without getting into debt.

That’s why The Wise Group established Our Warehouse, to help purchase 150 basic household items we have identified people need to set up a home. Our Warehouse gives supporters a way to give people who were homeless a ‘hand up’.

You can support us in three ways.

Make a donation

Help us purchase new household goods and furniture by making a financial donation to enable us to buy items on your behalf.

You can do this by making an online donation through internet banking.

Our bank is Westpac and our account number is: 03 0306 0249984 000. Please reference “ThePeoplesProject” or “TPP Donation” and let us know where you want the donation directed to by including Hamilton or Tauranga in the reference.

Your donation is tax deductible as The People’s Project is a registered charity with the IRD. If you would like a receipt, please email: mhsaccounts@wisegroup.co.nz.

Purchase and donate NEW household items

If you would like to buy new items yourself, these can be dropped off at The People’s Project office at either 24 Garden Place Hamilton or 44 Grey Street Tauranga. Or we can arrange a time to collect them from you.

Download our PDF to view the household items we are after to help people get started in their new home.

Please contact Chris Smith on 021 102 4620 or E: chris.smith@wisegroup.co.nz and he will be happy to arrange this. Chris can also let you know which of the 150 items we currently need the most.

You can purchase gift vouchers from a supermarket or The Warehouse.
